A man died Wednesday when his van slid off a road outside of Colfax and hit a tree. The man, Jeffrey Lynn Menesez, 62, from Grass Valley, was driving about 2:15 p.m. Wednesday on Placer Hills Road north of Plumtree Road toward Colfax when he lost control of his van.
